The Raw powerhouse Dvastate has been cooking up an awesome project behind the scene. Taking inspiration from other music genres, he is ready to release a one-of-a-kind concept. We asked him some questions about the thought behind his new concept, as well as the impact on his music. Read more down below:
First of all, awesome to see that you’re challenging yourself to go into a new music direction. What can you tell us about the rebranding?
Yeah, thanks guys! The idea of the rebranding sprouted a couple of months back. After a great year last year i had very productive talks about the next step in my career. We really wanted to develop a look and sound to really stand out from the crowd. I’ve always listened to rock and metal music growing up. And I always loved the look of those guys. So I wanted to express my love for hardstyle with a rocky twist. To be audible and visible in all areas of my act.
Are there certain sources that you took inspiration from? And why do these sources interest you?
Well like I said, I grew up with rock music. The first instrument I ever learned to play was the electric guitar. The raw sound just drew me to it. I’m still a metalhead to this day. And I think the vibes from that genre blend perfectly with modern-day hardstyle.
What made you want to develop this new musical concept? Was there a bigger driving factor behind it?
Well, there was still a bridge to cross between being an ordinary talent and having something of your own. I think having your own look and feel is always an important piece of the puzzle. Figuring out what niche you want to be in and having a total package that reflects that is an important step for me. So I’m glad it’s out in the open now.

We’re all curious, what can we expect from you in 2024, can you spill something exclusive?
A lot of music to start off. I took some time to get everything to sound the way I wanted it to. But I’m comfortable with it now. The first couple of tracks are already finished. With the first one dropping next Tuesday. So I can’t wait to show them to you all. And of course, I'm looking forward to playing those live. And yeah I have a third collab with my buddy Nightcraft in the works. So there’s an exclusive for you.
How can we recognize the updated Dvastate during performances?
Well, the outfit should be a clear hint haha. When I was asked what my color should be I immediately chose black. Then the idea arose to get a custom leather jacket done. Truly one of a kind so that should be recognizable for sure.
What is the message that you wish to deliver with this rebranding?
The message I want to give? That I’m here to stay and going to give it my all. This rebranding is nothing more than a visualization of thoughts that I’ve had for a long time. It’s now time to start showing it.
When are we going to see some of your rebranding? (be it at events or release-wise)
Well, the first track ‘Who I Am’ drops next Tuesday! I think it’s a great introduction to my new chapter. Really excited to see the reactions on that one. And the first gig with the new look will be on the first weekend of May! Back to Norway for Hardstyle DNA outdoor. So really stoked to show some new stuff over there!
